These rules exist to offer clarity on how players are typically expected to conduct themselves on Runsafe. If a rule is broken, punishments often include being muted, kicked, banned, or the Troll rank. In less severe cases, the rule break may only be met with a warning, or merely let go. Rules are imperfect, so staff discretion is always in effect to account for unique situations. We are not looking for ways to punish good players, nor define loopholes for troublemakers.

Primary Rules

Conduct yourself respectably.

We're all for having fun, but try to be a good person to be around. Staff often make helpful suggestions. You can also consult Player Conduct for inspiration.

Listen to staff when you are instructed to do/not do something.

Staff make requests to uphold our server environment & gameplay standards. Please don't ignore them, and please don't be argumentative/difficult.

Do not evade staff punishments using an alternate account.

If you were muted/trolled/banned etc., this was a punishment for you, not your account.

No discriminatory behaviors or ideologies.

This includes racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, nazism, etc.. If it disavows the human rights of a group of people, it doesn't belong on Runsafe.

Chat Rules for Minecraft & Discord

Please default to English on Runsafe.

Our staff cannot moderate a language they don't speak, so we generally prefer English to avoid this issue.

Do not impersonate staff or other users.

Don't try to fool anyone about who you are, or what your rank is.

Do not ask for a higher rank/console access.

For more information on how player ranks are obtained, see Player Ranks.

Do not advertise other servers without permission.

Gameplay Rules for Minecraft

No hacking. Ask for admin permission to use modded features.

We don't like things that disrupt the intended gameplay challenges. Seek admin permission before using anything beyond Optifine and/or shaders.

Do not exploit bugs or circumvent gameplay restrictions.

Don't use bugs to grief protected areas, clip through world barriers, etc.. Ideally, report bugs to staff.

Do not cause problematic lag/load on the server.

If this starts happening unintentionally, seek to undo what you did.

If you suspect a hacker, do not call them out. Report them.

Report them to a staff member privately using "/whisper <player> <message>" or Discord.'

Additional Rules for Survival Gameplay

Embrace the spirit of free-for-all Survival.

Survival allows griefing & PvP. Hardship is inherent, and we encourage competition as much as alliances. See Player Conduct for more.

Hacks/Mods/Clients offering a considerable advantage in Survival are strictly prohibited.

As mentioned in Rule 1, don't use a modded feature without admin permission. Survival gameplay is especially strict.

Logging out or warping away from PvP is currently discouraged.

Excessive offenses are likely to be punished. Play the game.

Please strive to keep chicken farms down to 10 chickens or less.

There are many ways to achieve this. Find one.

Additional Rules for Creative Gameplay

Strive to make builds presentable before attempting to move on.

Staff will assess if a build is of fair quality before you can begin another one. Unfinished builds may be deleted. See Player Conduct for more.

No griefing in the Creative world.

Any action that harms another player's build against their wishes is forbidden.

When using liquids (water/lava), ensure they do not run off into the roads.

Come on, man. Don't make a mess. Ideally, keep mine carts off the road, too.

Do not use saved hotbars (or any other method) to access otherwise inaccessible blocks.

If they aren't in the regular inventory or placeable, they are not meant to be used.

Additional Rules for Spleef Gameplay

Do not brick a spleef game by camping, keep moving.

If the game isn't moving because you won't, start hopping.

Additional Rules for Special Event Gameplay

Do not intentionally hinder other players' intended gameplay experience during events.

Adaptive staff calls are often needed for one-off events. Please, just listen, and you will be OK.

Additional Rules for Discord

Ideally, give some indication of your Minecraft username.

Especially for those active in both Minecraft and Discord, it's nice to know who is who.discord.runsafe.no]

Punishments & Further Clarification

These rules exist to offer clarity on how players are typically expected to conduct themselves on Runsafe. If a rule is broken, punishments often include being muted, kicked, banned, or the Troll rank. In less severe cases, the rule break may only be met with a warning, or merely let go. Rules are imperfect, so staff discretion is always in effect to account for unique situations. We are not looking for ways to punish good players, nor define loopholes for troublemakers.
