Player Conduct

While we do have detailed Rules that stipulate essential practices to avoid trouble, this page offers recommendations for fitting into the environment on the Runsafe Minecraft server, and making the most of its various game modes.

General Environment

We highly encourage players to aim for friendly engagements, and advise against being antagonistic or annoying intentionally. Teasing/banter has it's place, especially amidst competition/rivalry, but it's good to be mindful that you aren't going too far. A good rule of thumb is that if both parties aren't having much fun, or you're being asked to stop saying/doing something to someone, it isn't a good way to act. Staff may intervene if a situation is looking too disruptive or nasty.

Survival Gameplay

Survival is a harsh world with griefing and PvP enabled, which makes it interesting to navigate in the social environment of the game. Some good principles for Survival are:

  • Accept that hardship is part of the gameplay cycle. Anything you build or obtain can be lost, so don't gain anything you cannot handle losing.
  • Competitiveness against other players makes this game mode soar. At the end of the day, if there aren't some competing parties, there isn't much tension or excitement either. Aiming for some sort of friendly competition on some level brings this mode to life.
  • More bitter rivalries can be explored well in this game mode via action. We generally prefer respectable social conduct on Runsafe (especially in text), so Survival provides a unique outlet to sort out your differences with the clashing of blades and the destruction of property.
  • Have some purpose, don't just set things ablaze. Griefing is allowed, but it's better used for aforementioned meaningful competition than random destruction. Runsafe Survival is full of old and/or easily accessible locations that enrich the world and gameplay for everyone, including you. The most interesting experiences come with targeted use of destruction.
