KAOS
KAOS was one of the earlier Survival groups to form on the Runsafe Minecraft server.
Formation and Purpose
KAOS emerged during the turmoil leading up to the Survival Reset of 2012 which established the world border. KAOS aimed to unite various alliances, including The Guard, Valorous, and MOTT, under one banner. The “alliance of alliances” hoped to build a foundation for peace in the new world.
Founding Documents
The founding principles of KAOS were codified in two key documents: the Warsong Pact and the Redline Decree. These documents, now lost to time, were designed to resolve future conflicts and land disputes within the new world borders of Survival. It expressed certain guarantees for participants, such as access to shelters, a share of resources, and backup in times of war.
Leadership and Vision
Wow_Gerald11, leader of The Guard, believed that the unlimited world generation of the first Survival world helped maintain peace by providing enough space for everyone. He feared that Kruithne’s finite world would lead to more conflicts and make bases easier to locate and destroy. He stressed the importance of maintaining positive relations on the server, warning that a more aggressive tone could hollow out the player base.
The End
Gerald hoped that forming a super alliance would prevent bloodshed and grief. However, these efforts ultimately proved unsuccessful, with grave consequences for Gerald. While MOTT appeared to be a strong ally, they were secretly plotting to betray KAOS and rule the new world themselves. Strategist for MOTT, keltq, infiltrated KAOS and believed that The Guard was planning to make an immediate run for the dragon egg. He was convinced that Gerald had found Kruithne’s world seed, revealing the location of the stronghold where the portal to The End was kept.
It is unclear if this was The Guard’s plan or simply the imaginings of a cookie-munching lunatic, as The Guard would not make it to the new world. Proto007, one of the founders of MOTT, devised a scheme to ruin Gerald’s reputation and end him once and for all. In fulfillment of the plan, Gerald was struck by the banhammer in July of 2012, putting an abrupt end to the “Gerald Wars” and moving MOTT one step closer to the egg.
In the end, peace was not achieved, making the entire project a failure. Though relics of KAOS may be found in Dog’s Vault, the rest lingers only as fading memories for those who recall a time when the world was without end.
